This Ranunculus Eschscholtzii had already been blooming for over a week when we received our last big snowfall on May 4th. This plant, in the Buttercup family, has great color, blooms early and can take freezing night temperatures. Temperatures dropped to the mid- to high 20's (Farenheit) every night from late April until May 18th without damaging this great plant -- which was blooming! (ke 2001)

Spring of 2002 has been a totally different story. Very cold until May 16 then about 5 days of record-breaking heat with sunshine and temperatures in the upper 70's (Farenheit). This Ranunculus didn't start blooming until mid-May in 2002. (ke 2002)
